Entrepreneurs seeking SJA funding for their businesses should complete the online registration and summary. In addition, entrepreneurs must attach an executive summary of their business plan to this online registration. The executive summary should be NO MORE THAN FIVE PAGES (including attachments, appendices and exhibits) containing information on the subjects identified in the Submission Content link on this page. Materials in addition to the five-page executive summary can be attached but may not be reviewed or considered at this time. The submission content is not intended to suggest any particular order of information, but rather the entrepreneur should consider the arrangement best suited for describing his/her company.
SUBMISSION PROCESS
All business plans will be reviewed by the Screening Committee to determine whether they will be presented at a San Joaquin Angels meeting. Executive summaries must be received at least 30 days prior to a scheduled San Joaquin Angels meeting. Any submissions received after that time will be held for the next meeting’s review and consideration. Companies must submit executive summaries on-line through this website (sanjoaquinangels.com). All executive summaries are posted under a members-only section of San Joaquin Angels website.
The screening committee will consider all timely filed and completed submissions and will inform selected companies two weeks prior to a scheduled San Joaquin Angels meeting. Non-selected companies will receive feedback from the Screening Committee.
Selection criteria are based on a review of each executive summary against a Screening Committee worksheet. Download a copy here: screening-commitee-worksheet.pdf
Selected companies must agree to coaching in preparation for their presentation at the member investment meeting. Coaching sessions will be scheduled at the time of selection notification. In addition, selected companies may be asked to assist with the preparation of, and pay all or part of the expense of the preparation of a due diligence report that can help the San Joaquin Angels assess the investment potential of the company.
SELECTED COMPANIES
Companies selected to present their proposals at a San Joaquin Angels meeting must adhere to the requirements outlined in Meeting Materials link on this page.
